I'd also like to be able to search for the `nvidia` keyword on the Solus forum without being told it's too common of a word. In FF and Waterfox when changed in "about:config" "layers.acceleration.force-enabled" to true the tearing stopped.

Have you tried 'Force Composition Pipeline' in nvidia-settings? I'm on KDE with a 1050Ti and I have to use this because KDE's compositor doesn't have much of an effect. I never had the problem on Budgie but for all I know this may be because of a driver version. There are others on this forum that ...

I think this is quite common problem, not solved as far as I know. I have the very same issue.
