Re: Draftsight installation problem

My understanding is that the rpm package manager is meant for building packages and for not installing them. If that's not the case I stand corrected.

Re: How to place Software Center window controls to the left?

On GNOME I see that the applications that use Client Side Decorations (CSD) also keep the titlebar buttons on the right instead of switching them to the left. But in applications without CSD titlebar button placement works.

Which Desktop Environment (DE) do you use? Budgie / Mate / GNOME?

Re: Using Home Banking from Solus

It's not possible to install .deb packages in Solus, because it has its own packaging format: eopkg. If the package cannot be found in the Software Center, ask te developer to supply the program in a snap or flatpack. These formats are distribution agnostic, which means they will run on all Linux di...

[SOLVED] Disable IPv6 access when using VPN

I connect to my VPN via OpenVPN. I set IPv6 to disabled (Solus GNOME/VPN settings), but when I ask google for my ip, it shows my ipv6 address. The temporary solution is to enter "sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1" in the terminal, which I found here . As described in the above link I c...

Solved

mpv player from the repo can play compressed archives.

I had tried it in the past and then it did not work, but it does work now.

I have no need to use vlc anymore.

Re: VLC 3.0 does not play RAR-files

So I think it's about VLC changing how it works, because I just tried it on my game rig (windows) and vlc3 can't handle rar-files there either.

Quite the bummer, since I now need to decompress all my game videos, some of which are quite large (>2GB).

VLC 3.0 does not play RAR-files

After the update from v2.2.8-47 to v3.0.0-48 I noticed VLC does not play RAR-files anymore. This morning there was an update to v3.0.0-49 but the problem persists.

Does this have to do with the build for Solus, or is it a problem of the VLC code base?
