Re: How to make Solus boot second in dual boot ?

So to do it from Linux you can use something called "efibootmr". There are numerous internet guides on using this guy, and we
have it in our repositories. You can then change the firmware boot order from within Linux :)

Code: Select all

sudo eopkg it efibootmgr

Re: Budgie 11 for FreeBSD?

I would say lets have the FreeBSD guys work with us and make sure we're kept in line! Us Linux guys have an awful habit of creating POSIX ABI compliant software, only to layer Linuxisms on top of it like systemd, udev, bash, glibc/gcc, etc. I'm personally happy to create portable software, so - if i...

Re: bug view in calendar

Unfortunately this is an upstream issue in gnome-calendar - it appears their testing was done under Wayland and not X.Org. A GtkPopover is clipped to the GtkWindow bounds under X11, but is a subsurface under Wayland and can appear out of bounds. This is a double issue - insufficient X11 testing and ...

Re: How to make Solus boot second in dual boot ?

Given it's Windows 10 I'm going to assume it's UEFI. You should be able to use the firmware screen (so-called "BIOS menu") to alter
the UEFI entry priority so that Windows at the top. UEFI implementations are typically varied in how they handle a new variable being
added, some prepend, some append.

Re: CraveTV

Certain chipsets don't like the modesetting driver. You can try then installing the intel driver if you don't have it (Solus 3)

Code: Select all

sudo eopkg up && sudo eopkg it xorg-driver-video-intel

Re: Automatic Updates

I see some confusion in this thread - so let's get back to basics here. The G+ posts, etc, are always going to be technically orientated. Official things get announced on the blog. We implemented both Flatpak and Snap support, and I'm off to New York tomorrow to work with Canonical on integrating Sn...

Re: Solus3 ruins uefi-grub-menu

So those options you're now seeing, where you see goofiboot, etc, this is what we were talking about with "UEFI boot menu". This is the root level of entry into the firmware for booting other UEFI applications, which may or may not be bootloaders. It sounds like efibootmgr will do the same thing as ...
