cursor behaviour

Why do some windows override the cursor theme?

Firefox in particular seems to do this.

Re: Temporary (?) keyboard layout fix

"Temporary" as in - this will do until the issue is fixed. This solution will survive reboots.

Temporary (?) keyboard layout fix

sudo vim /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf
You can use gedit if you don't know how to use vim.
Change the layout value from "None" to whatever country code is appropriate.

Save and exit.

This thing you've done.

Re: [P] Installation Printer Driver for Dell laser printer

I was referring to Justin's post on page 1 of this thread with the terminal command containing "cupd" instead of "cupsd". I thought his "Thanks, GeneC! Re: [P] Installation Printer Driver for Dell laser printer

Thanks GeneC! Updated. As for Splix please provide the details of the source, homepage etc and we can look into packaging it. Nope. Your this post: https://solus-project.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=747#p4431 still has the incorrect first terminal command. I tried to add the printer via the CUPS ...

Re: [P] Installation Printer Driver for Dell laser printer

The printer itself is not far off 10 years old. It works perfectly out of the box on every distro, except Slackware (ie, I turn the printer on and a short while later a box appears saying "Printer ready"), where splix has to be built using a slackbuild script. I've never heard of anyone complaining ...

Re: [P] Installation Printer Driver for Dell laser printer

I can see it (after giving root its own password), but the issue, as far as I can see, is that splix is not installed. Splix provides the drivers for a range of printers, mostly Samsung. Installed make and gcc, in an attempt to compile splix, now getting the following error message. src/rastertoqpdl...
