Re: broken installation after updating to 1.0

I changed the BIOS so that only Intel is enabled. I can boot with that config now.

I will get you the photo asap.

Re: broken installation after updating to 1.0

I use RW media; they worked reliably throughout the years. But back to the original topic: Booting from USB is just faster. It ends with the same failure. Perhaps it would be good to have the last kernel available. You can see some of the specs on https://solus-project.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t...

[SOLVED] cli command to write a notification to Budgie

I searched the forum and the wiki but I didn't find a way to write a notification to the status bar from a bash script (sorry, I don't know the correct term).

Searching on Gnome gave me

Code: Select all

notify-send "some text"
Is this the correct way for Budgie?

distribute packages via P2P

Would it be possible to distribute the packages on a peer to peer basis like torrents. I believe that currently most of this is delivered via https://packages.solus-project.com. If peering would be used, network traffic could perhaps be more distributed perhaps even faster.

Re: RIP debIAN :(

thanks for the post; I was also thinking about it.

He deserves to be remembered.

FOSS ecosystem wouldn't be as it is without his contributions.

Re: Hello from Maine USA

Hi Dave,

welcome aboard and happy SOLUS.

Perhaps you should do an extra post on the keyboard problem. I checked the forum and found no entry on that specific topic. Perhaps I've missed something.

Kind regards,

Re: broken installation after updating to 1.0

I only used the CD for verification purposes. This was an upgrade on V1 track with: eopkg -y up But I will head for an USB installation. Just got to get my hands on a stick. thx P.S: All installations (4-5 on real hardware) I had performed before were without problems with an installation from CD. M...

Re: FPC Lazarus IDEy/CodeTyphon

Please show us:

Code: Select all

sudo ls -ald /usr/local/codetyphon/typhon/packager/units/x86_64-linux/
I don't understand why the object files are placed there. I would have expected somewhere in $HOME. Perhaps the configuration has to be adjusted. But let's check the permissions and see.
