Re: Export Solus to .ISO

Would be really nice if you could add a tool able to export done changes to .ISO file... so we could use it as LIVE distro. Let's say I install Solus on my laptop, install required apps, customize some stuff etc. and open gui "a tool" and save .ISO the easy-way. :ugeek: They are planning to remove ...

Re: Any plans for a 32bit version of Solus?

I still think that once you get the 64 bit version fleshed out a little more that a 32 bit version would be nice for those of us who have older laptops or netbooks with Atom processors who would like to run a nice, light weight DE like Budgie with the eopkg packages. I know it's a lot of work and ya...

Re: Going "All In" with Solus.

Calibre is special, it tries to drop permissions from root to the local user but that user doesn't exist in the chroot environment. We're going to fix up evobuild so that it can do calibre :) I've got calibre 98% complete :) That would be sweet. It really is a nice eBook reader but for now I can de...

Re: Rufus fails to create bootable USB for GPT

dd doesn't exist in Windows... Rufus works fine, just a matter of following the Installation Guide on the Wiki. I didn't know that since I gave up on Windows after 3 years of struggling with Win98 and picking up an iMac in 2001. My wife and I had a Windows 8 laptop for about a week in 2011 but retu...

Re: Using PiSI/eopkg

So is pisi(do you say it as piesee?) the preferred method or is eopkg the way you should do updates/upgrades in Terminal? I've been using pisi to do installs and upgrades.

Re: Rufus fails to create bootable USB for GPT

Or just forget Rufus altogether and use dd in the Terminal. Now that I've used dd for a while it's my preferred method of making bootable USB sticks. I use to use UNetbootin but it didn't work well with Arch based Distros but dd will work with every Distro I've used it for. It's very simple. Just cd...

Re: Going "All In" with Solus.

So we should be seeing feh in the Repos soon then? Thanks for compiling it, my kung fu is still too weak to do anything that complicated even though most of ya'll say it's easy,LOL. I know early on I had trouble using dd but now it's second nature for me to use it so I guess like anything else it ju...

Re: Going "All In" with Solus.

You gave up way too quickly. You can sit down with us and learn to compile stuff and package it, just jump in IRC. We're there most of the time to help. LOL, dang you guys, I just got done doing a reinstall of Solus 1.1 even though I couldn't get the Antergos install cloned over to another SSD. Thi...

Re: Going "All In" with Solus.

Tried watching some YouTube vids on compiling from source, tried it with a couple packages and just can't get the hang of it. I'm sure if I had someone sit down with me and walk me through it step by step so I could ask questions and just see how it's done I'd probably get it but vids just aren't do...

Re: Going "All In" with Solus.

I still need to look up the packages up on git hub so I can point you to the tar.gz files. I'm going to try to learn to compile from source so I an install tar.gz packages myself. I just figure it's time to put on my Big Boy Pants and learn to compile from source so I'll be watching a few YouTube vi...
