Re: Intel graphics screen tearing

Super necro posting here but seeing as this is STILL a relevant issue I'm having may as well. Denkplage to clear things up the fix I believe your addressing requires the installation of xorg-driver-video-intel first and then using nano or editor of choice edit the file. Otherwise it just leads to a ...

Intel graphics screen tearing

I'm currently running the open source drivers for my laptop. The driver claims it is intel haswell mobile. I am using open drivers for an arch spin with the most current spin of Gnome3 as well. On Gnome3 I have no tearing issues. On Solus there is tearing. Is this due to outdated video drivers or is...

Bug bounty for Solus?

Just saw that Elementary OS is doing this and wondered if Solus was considering the same approach.

(Stares at my broke mouse cursor) ...for reasons of course ;)

Re: Newbie Question Re: sudo eopkg up and ur

I know this is going to sound funny, but I've actually never used "ur" and have only used "up" so far. Mainly because I found "up" did what I needed it to. I suppose if you're trying to ensure all your repos are up to date it's a good idea to use ur once in a while but so far all I've used is up to ...

Re: Rolling to 1.2.1

Well if it didn't update to 1.2.1 that's fine, except for in the details page on Solus it claims it's currently at 1.2.1 and the kernel updated as well to 4.4.15. So it's "technically" 1.2.1. At least according to the system details. Whether everything else in the system reflects this change is a wh...

Re: [Guide] Install Adobe Flash player

^ This is outdated (as of right now). Just throwing that out there. The software repo has .626 current version is .632. Been that way for a few days now.

Thanks for the write up!

Re: No option to set brightness?

Sean beat me to that answer lol but just to add if there isn't an option to change brightness the only thing I can think of is if you have a desktop with a monitor that doesn't support the setting in which case you can adjust the brightness from the monitor. Not sure if this is even an issue, though.

Re: Rolling to 1.2.1

Awesome! No need to re-install sounds great :) Only reason I was curious is most other distros require reinstall every time a new version releases. That or they give a sketchy way to upgrade that may or may not crash your system. So I guess I will continue to eopkg upgrade until the new version is o...

Re: What drew you to Solus?

I tinker. A lot. In 95 I was messing with Windows. In 98 I had figured out all the settings and tweaks in Windows. Why? Well internet was slow. That's why. XP years were cool but I missed the customization of 98. So what did I do? Anyone else install the black theme for XP? How about change what the...
