Re: [Solved] Bootus Interruptious

I have an old rig running Win7 on an old WD drive, too. I found value in your post as I've been thru this before and forgot sequence of how to get back up and running. (difference between our situations is I am now running Solus from an external HD, assigning it first boot. That's how I got around ...

[Solved] Bootus Interruptious

I have an antique Phenom II x6 machine (non-UEFI), which has been running Windows 7 since new and for the past (almost) two years, Solus/Budgie. Each OS lives happily on its own spinning rust drive. Solus is used on this machine a few times a week and is religiously kept up to date, while W7 is used...

Re: Geary E-Mail Client Spell Checking

Hey Gumby! In my last poking around with Solus last week it seems the issue still persists as you've found. Maybe the new activity on this thread will attract some much-needed attention to the issue. Kinda strange that this hasn't gotten some attention as not having spell checking functionality in ...

Re: Geary E-Mail Client Spell Checking

Hello all. Is there any news on the Geary spell check dilemma? I uninstalled Geary, Installed hunspell, reinstalled Geary, but Geary does not prompt me for a language preference. I suppose that I need to muck around and see if I can find a config file to delete. Before I make this into a project, I ...

Re: Notebook: Budgie or Mate?

Mate uses a bit less RAM. so If you have 2GB of RAM, or less, you'll probably have better results with Mate. If your have 4GB, or more, use whichever DE you prefer.

Re: GPG & SHA256 ISO File Verification, for Noobs

At some point this should be put together for the Help Center. Though currently the issue is around how to validate it from windows. My guide is probably a bit too conversational in nature to be considered for inclusion in the Help Center. Please feel free to edit it as you see fit. As I've already...

Re: GPG & SHA256 ISO File Verification, for Noobs

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. GPG can be a bit intimidating, when first coming to grips with it, so I am hopeful that, given an easy to follow guide, folks will take the extra step to verify their download, rather than just hoping for the best. We're a bit distracted here in Southwest Texas at ...

GPG & SHA256 ISO File Verification, for Noobs

I suspect that it is relatively common knowledge that someone can use GPG to encrypt a message with their private key and that message may only be un-encrypted by the recipient, by using the sender’s public key. Therefore, if we exchange public keys with our pen pals before hand, it is entirely poss...
