Re: Text you can't copy in applications (for example Audacious)

I've seen this problem with audacious in certain distros. Afaik it's an issue when audacious is built with the GTK3 interface. The workaround is to launch audacious from a terminal (e.g. open mate-terminal and type audacious and hit enter). then, go to services | plugins | scrobbler | settings and h...

Re: Brisk Menu Prefrences

To access brisk menu preferences you can install dconf-editor, then go into dconf-editor and go to com | solus-project | brisk menu. I don't think there's any preferences for tooltips though. As far as alternate menus, there is the 'mate-menu' applet. You can add it by right clicking the panel | add...

Re: I have kworker bug. Need crontab for fix but doesn't work on solus.

I don't see any reason why a systemd service wouldn't work for this. To run the command at boot you could try a service like this: /etc/systemd/system/interrupts.service: [Unit] Description=Disable stupid interrupts [Service] User=root Type=oneshot ExecStart=/bin/bash -c "echo disable > /sys/firmwar...

Re: Solus Mate painfully slow to boot after update

looking at the linux-current changelog in software center it looks like this may be fixed with the may 28th updates, I would try applying them if you haven't already: 4.16.12-73 (2018-5-28) Revert upstream CRNG init changes Attempting to fix the horrific boot time regression we're seeing on systems ...

Re: Solus Mate painfully slow to boot after update

I'm also seeing a severe increase in boot speed with the latest updates. I have an intel NUC with an ssd. budgie is configured to auto login. Used to boot all the way to the budgie desktop in like 12 seconds flat. After installing today's update it seems to take a good 30-40 seconds just to login to...

Re: Intel graphics screen tearing

bwat47, Thanks for suggestions, I'm not linuxhelmet, but based on what I read we have the very same issue, on slightly different hardware. My laptop has Intel Ivy Bridge integrated graphics only, so I cannot test with other GPU. Anyway answers to your question: 1) No tearing in budgie itself (when ...

Re: Screen tearing

I think this is quite common problem, not solved as far as I know. I have the very same issue. Some references about it that I found: https://solus-project.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2781 https://dev.solus-project.com/T2267 Hope it gets some attention sooner than later, don't like using Chrome...

Re: VLC gui wrong size

I don't have this problem in Solus, but when I recently tried manjaro I ran into the same issue.

On Manjaro I had to add export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 to my /etc/environment file and reboot and that fixed it.

Re: Intel graphics screen tearing

Super necro posting here but seeing as this is STILL a relevant issue I'm having may as well. Denkplage to clear things up the fix I believe your addressing requires the installation of xorg-driver-video-intel first and then using nano or editor of choice edit the file. Otherwise it just leads to a...
