Perhaps try to search on multiwriter ?
I iterate what Craig says as the gnome prefix had bitten my searches in the past. I search the SC like I search the web: wide net. "Multi" would of been my only search term. Higher/faster success rate that way.

Re: please help me decipher installation message

When I'm left to twist in the wind, that's about when I start figuring things out. actually appreciate the tough love, but a kick in the ar*e works better for my skillset...as far as research investment time (insert smiley face emoji here). My case is far from solved as far as live OS detecting targ...

Re: Solus installation live USB does not recognize/cannot use internal SSD

Also of note: since the time of original posting, I have established a GPT partition table and added a single ext4 partition to the SSD through GParted Live. I successfully installed Ubuntu Server 17.04 on the target SSD, then reformatted with GParted Live again. This seems to be a problem specific...

please help me decipher installation message

(Long story short. Lost a new expensive sansdisk USB running solus updates recently. It's possible this is my fault. MBR is gone. Not recognized as device. Used a bent-fork old solus 1.2.1 to install on. Barely mounts but I have my Budgie 3. back.. Found 3 better USB's in shed. Solus installer recog...

Re: Best Way To Install Solus On This Setup

Visually and practicality-wise I like using Solus 3 the best, but 1.2.1 was far more stable for me in the areas you are talking about (boot etc) and beyond. We will see what 4 brings. I have circa-2010 thinkcentre that is still kicking, so I smile at your old Gateway. Can't help you as I'm plotting ...

anti-usb bias in new Solus .iso's?

Or am I crazy? Have installed Solus freshly 3 times since a year ago. From live usb to target usb. No problem. Between the last update and my own stupidity, I had to install again. This time successfully to an old usb with bent tines and is ready for the boneyard. (I did not discover the stabler USB...

Re: S.O.S.--top bar disappeared after updates

It's never a good idea to reboot in the middle of the update process, even if it's awfully slow, if you can it's better to leave your computer turned on until all updates are applied. Flames, went down in. Doing a clean install shortly. Kyrios: I am taking your words, and writing them on a gold-pla...

Re: S.O.S.--top bar disappeared after updates

1) Are using the terminal to update? or the software center? If the latter, then change and use only the terminal. I would suggest first to: sudo eopkg hs to check the history of updates. Then, choose the number that represents an update you did before the big one from today: sudo eopkg history -t ...

S.O.S.--top bar disappeared after updates

Helpless as far as launching apps or using terminal. Lucky I had an old qupzilla icon on desktop. If I go the ctrl+alt+f2 route I have no control over screen size of pseudo-terminal (or whatever it is). So still non functioning. I, too, had s..l...o..w updates today. Aborted several times. 71 packag...

Re: unimpressed with snap-I don't get it

Beauty of Snap (or Flatpak, or Nix) is that you are now capable of installing apps in containers (not really but kinda) that are independent from your distribution. For example, if you are doing some mission-critical work on your computer but if you also want to run some modern apps for your own us...
