Re: Accessing SMB shares via filesystem

Thanks Sunny, I'll give that a try. Did you find a solution to this problem? I also want to access a GVFS mount with the CLI but I cannot find the mounted folder anywhere :) Sorry for the thread necromancy here but it was non-obvious and this thread comes up on Google searches. I found it under /ru...

Re: Show us your Solus Desktop

Nothing too special with the icon set in the main repository and all, etc but I'm happy with this new panel arrangement with a centered top date and night light widgets, and a bottom dock style panel with slightly larger (Moka) icons than default, set to "intelligent" autohide.

Re: What drew you to Solus?

I've already used Solus for a while, but out of curiosity went on a spree of distro hoppning (and not by using VM's mind you, to get the full experience of issues on my actual hardware and the true sense of their performance). Fedora 27 KDE - The best KDE yet from what I can tell (sans the upcoming ...

Duplicate strings/translations due to language + country combos?

Hi! I've been fixing a number of translations to Swedish for Budgie Desktop. Quite a bit of "särskrivningar", a surprisingly common, yet glaring issue with translations made by Swedes (we never write e.g. "cookie cutter", always "cookiecutter")! While doing so, I discovered there were actually two c...

Re: Getting h.264 support in Opera

Vivaldi is in kind of the same situation here, so here's the instructions for that one, confirmed to work to enable h.264 with at least Vivaldi 1.11 although maybe requiring re-application if there's a Vivaldi update, and with no guarantees for the future. Close Vivaldi. I felt like being bold so I ...

Re: What do you use Solus for?

Mostly browsing and coding (HTML+JS, Python, Go), including working against my Vultr instance. I'd really like to migrate more towards Solus for my photography workflow. I think I'll make some tries here to get something going. Currently on Lightroom on Windows, but I'm really just using it as a pho...

Hello, Solus!

I already introduced myself with support questions, but thought a friendlier way might be to at least complement it with a proper introduction! I'm a guy from northern Sweden who first got started with computers with a VIC 20, then soon after a ZX Spectrum 48K. They were kinda popular in Europe, I t...

Re: Solus suddenly stopped booting

Thanks for the quick and accurate support here! It was indeed an issue where I had run out of EFI partition space as the default partition size for this that Windows 10 uses is 100 MB, and even if I had Solus installed on a physically different drive, it still used this EFI partition. There were aro...

Re: Solus suddenly stopped booting

OK, since posting I notice the modules are listing kernel 4.12.9, and the general system info 4.12.8. Hmm, not sure what's up with that mismatch.

Re: Solus suddenly stopped booting

Hmm, I think the kernel is current? Fil 2017-08-28 21 29 07.jpeg However I did install graphics card drivers -- not intentionally, but as part of a general system update. I'm using an NVIDIA GTX 970. I'm using the closed source / NVIDIA drivers and not nouveau. Could that perhaps be it? If there are...
