Re: How To: Install & configure httpd (Apache web server) & PHP

Interesting Howto. So far, I've been using Bitnami Lamp Stack on Solus - installs without hick-ups and doesn't need much work afterwards. Next time I flaten out Solus and reinstall it, I'll give it a shot. :)

Re: Gnome Music crashing

What would actually make you want to report the bug? I'm not sure if it used the same login details that it would get done either (and people can use github authentication which is an account many people would have already), or would it have to be that you didn't resolve it yourself? For starters, ...

Re: Gnome Music crashing

... Now how do you know that a developer will come here and view your post ? This is just a (wrong) assumption you made. The one making the wrong assumption is you! I never said I am waiting for a developer to come here and read my post. Let me copy and paste from my previous reply: Maybe another u...

Re: Gnome Music crashing

Nope, you're wrong. Forum is a place for the community to share, exchange and help each other. So far, I agree. Question: How can we help each other if we don't post the problem here in the first place? Maybe another user encountered my exact same problem and already found a solution? A forum is a ...

Re: Gnome Music crashing

If you file bugs where they are meant to be (at https://dev.solus-project.com/ ) then issues can be fixed in the package itself I understand that. Still, I am a bit troubled that I have yet to register on another page and learn my way around another posting platform. Why having a forum here if peop...

Re: Gnome Music crashing

Temporary fix: I commented out the following lines in albumartcache.py (564 - 572): try: mime = sample.get_caps().get_structure(0).get_name() MediaArt.buffer_to_jpeg(map_info.data, mime, self._path) self.emit('found') discoverer.stop() return except GLib.Error as error: logger.warning("Error: {}, {}...

Gnome Music crashing

I just performed a clean install of Solus Gnome yesterday including all the updates. Here I am probably the only one that likes Gnome Music for some weird reason but that's a complete different story. :) Problem: The moment I open Gnome Music it crashes. I briefly see the window and albums but a sec...

Re: Google Chrome 65 - missing fonts

Well, I guess I am the only one having this issue then. Bummer! :(

Tried once more a clean installation but the moment Chrome updates to version 65, I am ending up with ugly fonts in Chrome. I can confirm that this only happens in Solus, not in other distros.

Re: Google Chrome 65 - missing fonts

Yeah, I know. The MS fonts aren't my issue; they were merely a temporary solution until the cause could be discovered and fixed. My issue is that Chrome 65 looks terrible. Tested it. The problem is only with Solus. Antergos, Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora don't have that issue. For now, I've switched to ...

Re: Terrible fonts in third-party apps

I have the same issue (see here) I temporarily fixed it by installing Microsoft's True Type Fonts (msttcorefonts). Not without issues but it helps.
