[SOLVED] radiotray customization

Tue Sep 12, 2017 3:47 pm

Hello there,

I used radiotray app for some time but since I switched to Solus "radiotray" app lost its customization.
How I can add my stations that I like to have in custom category?

EDIT: I tried to edit the bookmarks file from radiotray but without any success (see attached file).

Looks like you're editing them in /usr/share/ which will get over-written any time there are updates. You need to edit the file in your ~/ folder where ever radiotray stores the info.

This is the only folder I can find... went to root and search for radiotray (anything). The only folder that comes up is in the usr/share (using Solus Gnome)

Editing should work but for some reason it doesn't. The file is saved and after reopening the bookmark file again all changes are there but nothing on the radiotray shows up.

Will look again if I can find some other place where radiotray bookmarks can be.

https://github.com/ebruck/radiotray-ng says you can specify a bookmark location with a configuration file, that way you can have your own custom bookmarks in your home folder.

Speak I have to edit config file and specify the bookmark location? Will try this when I get back home from work.

I found the other bookmarks.json file here: /home/MYUSERNAME/.config/radiotray-ng/

Edited that file and it worked! Thank you for giving me a hint.

For other users on Solus Gnome here is what I inserted to get the new group and my stations (just for now two, but it will expand in few minutes) :D

You just have to replace the name of the station with your faved ones and edit the streaming link... that's it.

Code: Select all

{
      "group" : "My Favorite Stations",
      "image" : null,
      "stations" : [
         {
            "image" : null,
            "name" : "Fresh FM 95.3 Hamilton",
            "url" : "http://live.leanstream.co/CINGFM"
         },
         {
            "image" : null,
            "name" : "Beograd 1",
            "url" : "http://rts.ipradio.rs:8002/"
         }
      ]
   },
