Headphones not working

Sat Mar 04, 2017 11:44 am

Having installed Solus I cannot find a way to make headphones function when plugged in. The audio works fine through the speakers but not the phones.

In the sound menu there is only the audio speakers appearing in output.

Any suggestions in simple terms for a new user please ?

I think at the moment you still have to switch manually according to what I saw in other posts on this forum :

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2745&p=13217&hilit= ... nes#p13217

I think this only concerns the Budgie edition because on my computer running the MATE edition, it works just fine

That's the problem. There is no facility or drop down where I can click on manually that I can see to swap the output from speakers to headphones

How are the headphones connected? 3.5mm audio jack or USB?

If USB is there anything in dmesg or lsusb after you plug them in?

can you post the brand and model of your hedphones? many wireless (bt) headphones have trouble connecting to PC (as they are designed for use paired with mobile phones android or iOS).

Repairing headphones doesn't really fit in the scope of these forums either.
