[Partially Solved] Anyone successfully installed Microsoft 2010?

Sat Nov 18, 2017 11:14 pm

OK, I need this public enemy number one and being an accountant it is my bread and butter (and eggs too). I am unable to figure out why it is crashing in mid of installation throwing:

Code: Select all

err:rpc:RpcAssoc_BindConnection rejected bind for reason 0
fixme:ole:NdrCorrelationInitialize (0x32cf14, 0x32cff0, 1024, 0x0): semi-stub
fixme:rpc:handle_bind_error unexpected status value 1765
err:rpc:RpcAssoc_BindConnection rejected bind for reason 0
I have used every trick I knew to get it done, in summary:

Code: Select all

Installed wine wine-32bit libxml2-32bit libxslt-32bit
Ensured samba is installed, then proceeded to:

Code: Select all

export WINEARCH=win32
export WINEPREFIX=~/.wine
winecfg > change libraries 'riched20' to native, etc.
winetricks msxml6 corefonts dotnet20
Tried all above on Windows 7/Windows XP (from winecfg) but the beast is just not moving. Having a look at this 'bindconnection' thing, is it due to winbind? Since winbind is not available in Solus repos so I at least have something to blame.

Welcome ideas to fix.

Thanks

I have managed to install Microsoft Office 2010 using Playonlinux. POL used Wine 1.7, but I would still appreciate feedback on above so not marking thread solved for the time being.

Thanks.
