Yes, shannon is the current stable repo. I didn't know Ikey merged unstable to shannon, haven't been around much this weekend. :)

Hi.

My two cents: I needed to install ImageMagick too in order to run POL (as well some additional python libraries, but I guess it's due to my Python installation - Anaconda).

Thanks for the guide.

So well am not really familiar with the terminal at all, what to do here

abc@abc ~ $ ./playonlinux
bash: ./playonlinux: No such file or directory
abc@abc ~ $ ($ ./playonlinux)
bash: $: command not found
abc@abc ~ $ /playonlinux
bash: /playonlinux: No such file or directory

I did the first 2parts but now how to install it?
(yes I downloaded playonlinux from the link you provided and extracted it)

trm90,

$ ./playonlinux
This tries to execute the file playonlinux in the current working directory. However, this fails as the working directory isn't where you extracted playonlinux to

abc@abc ~ $ ./playonlinux
The ~ indicates you are in your home directory (so /home/abc I suspect) unlikely to be where it is extracted.

For the command to work you need to change the working directory
abc@abc ~ $ cd Downloads/playonlinux

Or substitute Downloads/playonlinux with where you extracted playonlinux. (Note you can use tab to complete paths which is very useful!)

An alternative is to use nautilus (or Files as it's listed in the menu) and move into the directory you extracted playonlinux to. From there if you right click the background and select 'Open in Terminal' then $ ./playonlinux will work fine. Just double clicking the file didn't work for me

"PlayOnLinux is unable to find 32bits OpenGL libraries.

You might encounter problem with your games"

sth like sudo apt-get install ia32-libs?

and 2nd error is

During installation of system.devel I've encountered errors:

Code: Select all

<class 'bsddb.db.DBRunRecoveryError'>: (-30973, 'BDB0087 DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery -- BDB0061 PANIC: Invalid argument')

...

Error in sys.exitfunc:

<class 'bsddb.db.DBRunRecoveryError'>: (-30973, 'BDB0087 DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery -- BDB0060 PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery')
Is it just me or something changed and the instructions have to be updated?
