Is there any alternative to not having any l2tp package included in Solus? Can we build one ourselves?
I've looked at xl2tpd, but it doesn't have any instructions on how to build it. I also checked openl2tpd, which has some instructions on how to build, but doesn't create the required kernel modules (pppol2tp). Lastly, I managed to build strongswan (which handles IPsec connections), but I couldn't build the network-manager applet for strongswan (https://wiki.strongswan.org/projects/st ... orkManager
) because of a missing library (libnma.so)
What I ended up doing was to create an Ubuntu VM that has network-manager-l2tp installed and connect to my office network from my VM. But this is inefficient at the least and very difficult to use. If i could somehow configure my host to send all vpn traffic through the VM, then that might work until there's official support in Solus, but I didn't find a way of doing that.
So, what other options do we have? I would really like to use Solus, but at this time, I really need an L2TP VPN connection so I can work remotely. Any thoughts?
