The extra steps I have to take to link my separate '/home' partition data, that is what I hate about the installer. But criminitly, please don't take offense Ikey! The installer is the least of Budgie. Your Budgie is the cat's meow! Budgie is what makes Solus, not the installer. Budgie is what 'makes' my Arch the cat's meow right now, too. :D

Cinnamon & MATE may be adequate replacements for GNOME but I don't think so. I've been waiting for a 'Budgie' kind of DE ever since GNOME3 came along forcing everyone back into KDE, which had forced everyone to switch to GNOME to begin with. I've been using GNOME but this is what I've been waiting for. And a Budgie-like DE has been a long time coming in 'Linux-years'... :D

Man--and I'm not kissin your arse--You have done with Budgie what they (even when 'they' included you) failed to do!

Hmm, maybe I should kiss your arse. :D

But nevermind me. It's a bipolar kinda day. UP on Budgie, so I gotta be DOWN on something, so today it's an installer. ;)

Regards.

C00ter

I gotta say your missing out.. :P

I also am running Budgie on Arch (with XFCE also), and Solus. I most always boot into Solus and use it as my main OS. The 'guts' of the Solus OS are for me better than others I am using on this lappy and a desktop (Arch and Debian).

Solus is faster, uses less resources, boots faster, and is simpler than the others. I have the same or later drivers, kernel, nvidia than Arch. Sure Arch has AUR, but Solus has 'User Repo' (just in its infancy).

You ought to give it a shot... ;) Image
