Linux-libre for Solus linux

Mon May 28, 2018 6:02 am

Do you guys think linux-libre is great? If not, do you think it will become better? Will Solus linux ditch the linux kernel, in the future, and go with linux-libre for a more pure linux experience?

Well, I hope it happens! :D

it'll never work because most computer's are proprietary so guess what they need. even fedora has finally figured that out.

What if there were more open and stable drivers for linux-libre? What does it need to become mainstream?

i mean the manufacturers don't open source the drivers needed to properly support the computers they build, eventually they will lock down even the bios, so you can't do anything without the special key(aka: signed drivers/secure boot) it's only going to get worse for os's that don't pay, for them there's no money in linux.
