[SOLVED]Flash player for opera

Sun Oct 22, 2017 6:32 am

Ive tried to install flash player through the software center and it's not working in opera. Flash doesn't even show up in the plugins in opera. Any advice?

Hi there,
I experienced the exact same issue, but managed to resolve yesterday doing the following:

1. Download current flash file from Adobe Website (choose the tar.gz for linux from the drop down option)
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

2. Open terminal and create a new folder: /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin (you will need root privileges to create this folder)
sudo mkdir /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin

3. Extract contents of downloaded tar.gz file (by default it may extract to the original file downloaded location)

4. Move / Copy the contents of the extracted file to the previously created adobe-flashplugin folder (again you will need root privileges)

5. Restart opera, everything worked fine for me and has done so for the last 24hrs.

Hope that helps.

Need more info, what part didn't work, did all the commands succeed? Were there any errors?

Yes all the commands worked and all the files are where they need to be. I think it's working now. I'm still curious, is it supposed to show up in extension under settings? Or does it just work. My amazon music is playing now so I'm pretty sure it's working.

I tried this on Linux Solus and it actually worked perfectly once I had restarted the Opera browser. Many thanks
