tracker-extract continuously running

Since a week tracker-extract has run continuously on my system, using 100% of one HT-core.

I did a backup of a 100GB folder onto my nvme disk and tracker-extract ran for over 8 hours. Status details didn't change during this period:

Code: Select all

user@eleusis ~ $ tracker status
Currently indexed: 35336 files, 1164 folders
Remaining space on database partition: 154.2 GB (30.93%)
Data is still being indexed: Estimated less than one second left
At the moment I run "tracker daemon -k" to kill the tracker. I have also tried "tracker reset --config" and "--hard", "--soft"; but to no avail.

Is there a way to fix this?

I'm having the same trouble. After 3 hours of uptime it reach almost 600 mb ram usage and lots of space occupy. I don't know why the developers not solving this situation or simply guide us a temporary solution.

Happy to see that I am not the only one ;)

Indeed, even if the search options are disabled in the solus system setting, tracker is always running and eating cpu and ram.
It seems that there is no way to remove that *** as nautilus is built against it.

Do someone have a clue ?

Cheers :)
