Slow boot Lenovo ThinkpadEdge

Tue Feb 13, 2018 8:48 pm

I installed Solus with Budgie on a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge and the boot time feels very slow (compared to the time to boot with windows 7 before). No dual boot. I installed Solus the "recommended" way during the installation process, formatting everything that was on the hard drive.

It spends a good amount of time on a black screen with just a cursor blinking on the upper left corner. And sometimes it stays on this screen forever (5+ minutes) and never reaches the login screen so that the only way is to force a power cycle to finally boot on Solus.

I've read similar threads so here's some information that might be relevant.
Startup finished in 5.409s (firmware) + 236ms (loader) + 3.397s (kernel) + 3.302s (initrd) + 21.035s (userspace) = 33.381s
