I have dual-boot Solus(in SSD) and Windows(in HDD), before that I could copy or paste my files from Solus to Windows drive, But Now I can't perform this operation, the New Folder and Paste options are faded. Can anyone tell me how to solve it?
This is probably because Windows left some cache data on the partition. To solve this issue, boot on Windows and disable fast startup
- Type Control Panel in the search box.
- Click Control Panel.
- Click Power Options.
- Click Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Scroll down to Shutdown settings and uncheck Turn on fast startup.
- Click Save changes.
Also note that Windows has to be fully shutted down when starting Linux otherwise the NTFS file systems on internal disks may be left in an inconsistent state and changes made by Linux may be ignored by Windows.
So it is advised to disable Windows hibernation
powercfg /h off
