I too would love to have this working at some point. I came over from KDE Plasma to Solus and miss this functionality.

Other than that I am truly enjoying Solus 3.0 Budgie.

Thanks
+1 Agreed.
Same here, miss this functionality.
The main feature I miss is my phone being able to be accessed from within file manager.

@justin - Do you know full KDE connect functionality could be added to Solus budgie some tike in the future?

Certainly, it's just a matter of time really.

So I installed it , I had the impression that it was working now.
I do have the indicator with battery %, ring device and send file working. Mouse control from phone is also working.
but I cannot browse the device.
I dont see it on Nautilus and when choosing "Browse device" from the indicator, I get this error:
A folder named /home/username/.cache/kioexec/krun/13013_0/ already exists.
When I open kde-indicator from the terminal I get this error:

Code: Select all

error activating kdeconnectd: QDBusError("", "")
(tested one OnePlus 3)
So nothing else I can try do to make it work? :)

That 'error' is harmless.

Does anything change if you install qt5-tools?

Hi!

Sorry, I didn't see you answered.

I've checked and I already have qt5-tools installed. I don't remember, but I might have installed it to try to make KDE connect work.

EDIT: I dont know if this relevant or what it means, but i've just installed menulibre, and when it started it warned me about this parsing error:

/usr/share/applications/org.kde.kdeconnect.kcm.desktop
Exec program 'kcmshell5 kcm_kdeconnect' has not been found in the PATH

On other non-kde distros, it seems the file viewing feature is only supported by dolphin file manager. Might be worth a try.
