Battery icon displays charge incorrectly

Fri May 11, 2018 7:31 am

Hello. So this has been going on for a couple months now and it hasn't been fixed via updates, so I guess this is something I have to fix myself. The battery icon doesn't display the actual charge. The percentage is the correct one I believe, but the icon itself doesn't work correctly. For example, I currently have 32% battery yet the icon shows a full charge. How do I fix this?

How do I do that? Sorry, I'm still a beginner.

budgie desktop settings-> panels, click on status indicator, then the trash can next to the up/down arrows, then click the green + button-> status indicator-> add, then use the arrows to get it back to the right place

I can't seem to find those desktop settings. Are they a separate program? I'm using Gnome by the way. Not sure if that makes a difference.

yeah, that makes a difference. different desktop environment.

you can't do nothing about it in gnome. try pressing alt+f2 & type r & hit enter.

don't know. i was on gnome last week & the applet worked fine for me.
could be something with your specific laptop.

does the same problem happen on other linux distro's?

I tried a few before this one and no, I didn't have this problem. It was actually fine for a few months, it just decided to stop working properly one day
