[SOLVED] Rstudio - ERRORs while installing packages

Sun Jan 07, 2018 2:03 am

Hey guys,

Have some big issues with RStudio. I am not able to install packages. E.g. I can't even install the package that allows me to import a csv via the GUI. For a more complex package, I attached below the errors I received in the console.

Code: Select all

Installing package into ‘/home/userme/R/x86_64-solus-linux-gnu-library/3.4’
(as ‘lib’ is unspecified)
also installing the dependencies ‘utf8’, ‘xts’, ‘TTR’, ‘curl’, ‘munsell’, ‘pillar’, ‘stringi’, ‘backports’, ‘quadprog’, ‘quantmod’, ‘digest’, ‘plyr’, ‘reshape2’, ‘scales’, ‘tibble’, ‘lazyeval’, ‘rlang’, ‘evaluate’, ‘markdown’, ‘stringr’, ‘yaml’, ‘htmltools’, ‘base64enc’, ‘jsonlite’, ‘rprojroot’, ‘mime’, ‘tseries’, ‘fracdiff’, ‘Rcpp’, ‘colorspace’, ‘ggplot2’, ‘lmtest’, ‘zoo’, ‘RcppArmadillo’, ‘testthat’, ‘knitr’, ‘rmarkdown’, ‘expsmooth’, ‘rticles’

Hey guys,

Have some big issues with RStudio. I am not able to install packages. E.g. I can't even install the package that allows me to import a csv via the GUI. For a more complex package, I attached below the errors I received in the console.

Just install it from the repository instead of building it from source 8-)

Code: Select all

sudo eopkg it rstudio

It is already installed from the main solus repository. Just reinstalled everything and tried again... nothing happened :(. I think that the problem is that it is missing other package dependencies

Could you please run rstudio from a terminal to see what's the output ?

Perhaps /usr/share/rstudio/bin/diagnostics could also help ? (I have never used that application)

Try running the program from the terminal, it will tell you what the problem is

Code: Select all

rstudio

Ok, thanks to a kind user from IRC, my problem was solved by typing this in the terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo eopkg it -c system.devel
Installed a few packages; no problems so far. Yet... installing so many dependencies... maybe another solution will be found in time :)

Thanks guys for your quick replies!

LE: For some additional R packages, I had to install also openblas-devel and curl-devel

The many dependencies are required. While you may only need some to build one packages, you'd have to work it out for each package (and then need more for another package). Installing them all gives you full coverage with a C/C++/Fortran compiler.
