Grsecurity+PaX

Mon Dec 26, 2016 5:52 pm

I built grsecurity + PaX successfully into the 4.8.15 kernel. Currently having some issues getting gnome3 started, but this is not a roadblock and shouldnt be difficult to fix. Are there any others that have interest in using this? I was thinking of building a package for paxctl and paxctld with a list of default files to set permissions on at boot for rolling package updates.

I'd definitely be interested in running a grsec kernel. I do understand a tiny bit of PaX, but I'm not sure if I can be of any help in building anything. If you could share your work I would very much appreciate it. btw running budgie myself.

Would be great to put into our How To section if you do decide to make a guide.

Yes, I would be very excited to see grsec on Solus. Of all the big distro's, it's only Arch which has it in its main repos (and debian in its unstable ones). Definitely a distro like Solus which is kind of critical of packaged software (not a critique) should be able to set up relatively easy out of the box PaX rules for its packages.

But what do I know. Not much :).
