Would building packages for solus be helpful in getting them added to repos?

There are several pieces of software (like eclipse) that I wish Solus had in repo. Would it be helpful to build them for Solus, in order to get them added faster, or should I just wait/and or switch distro?

Btw I think Solus is awesome for casual use, just feel it is not ready for development work.

Eclipse has been accepted for inclusion, so feel free to package it ! Any help is, of course, welcome! :)
Just make sure to follow the guidelines (i.e: make sure a package request was made and approved before submitting a patch).
You will find the packaging documentation here.
