[SOLVED] Solus don't find HDD

Tue Oct 17, 2017 11:27 am

In the installation process Solus don't recognize my hard drive and through an error at me that I don’t have a disk with at least 10GB, but I have a SSD with 256GB. Trying to use fdisk -l also did not show my hard drive.
My System is a Dell XPS 13 (2016).
I would appreciate any tip on how Solus might recognize my hard drive.

I would recommand first to update the BIOS to the latest version
Then in the BIOS/EFI, disable secure boot, and set the SATA controller to AHCI

Thank you very much. AHCI did the trick, for some reason Dell believe you should run a single SSD in Raid mode... Or that's what the (untouched) BIOS settings said. Is there a way to close the topic?

PS: Solus is great, convinced me to leave my Windows.

Just edit the title of the thread with "[SOLVED]" in front ;-)

Year raid was the default mode on my dell xps 15 too. I guess it's always the case unless you perchase a dell with ubuntu pre-installed (which wasn't available for the model I bought).
