Can't boot into live from usb on MacBook Pro late 2011

Sun Jan 28, 2018 11:59 pm

Hi,

I used Etcher to create the install on a usb drive but after I selected Solus 3 Gnome, it hangs on the screen where it says:
[[ Solus Operating System ]]
solus login:
I also tried different usb drives.

GFX info:
Integrated: Intel Graphics HD 3000
Dedicated: AMD Radeon HD 6750M

Thanks

edit: added specs

I had this problem-- and managed to fumble my way to a solution-- In May of last year with a mid-2012, MPB. It worked also on another forum member's 2008 model. It may well work for you.

Good luck!

Thanks, it helped me in regards that I now know how to modify the kernel command line parameters and get into the terminal mode.

Unfortunately after applying the commands, the graphical boot via

Code: Select all

$ /sbin/init 5
still ends in a freeze.

What I aslo tried: I updated the kernel, but was not able to

Code: Select all

$ upgrade
everything else, due to lack of disk space. Is there a way to extend that? There's 16GB free on that thing.

I updated my original post to include my gfx specs.
