How to edit menu entries ?

Fri Oct 09, 2015 1:56 pm

Some menu entries are overly long (at least for me.. :P .).
Takes up to much desktop territory.
Is there an easy way to edit the entry?
(For example = 'Transmission' is sufficient no need for "Transmission BitTorrent Client")
There are several other examples.

Well, I found a way, but its not very 'elegant' (and updates will no doubt revert them), but editing the *.desktop file for each in /usr/share/applications will do it..

We need a menu editor.

Yeah that is the only way and as you said upon the next update it'll get over-written.

Edit: Just saw your request for a menu editor. I have been working on getting one in so we can edit a little easier.

Any word on a menu editor? The last comment was made in 2014 and from what I can tell, if I am not mistaken, there is still no menu editor.
