Update Jan 6th 2017 breaks keyboard and mouse

Sat Jan 06, 2018 11:55 am

I updated this morning (primarily to get the patch for the recent CPU vuln's). After reboot neither keyboard or mouse are working (works in grub and luks entry etc), Its only once the kernel loads that I lose input control.

I can boot to previous Kernel (version 4.14.9, release 42) and everything is ok, so I assume its a kernel issue? Not sure what I need to gather to report?

I've performed a rollback using eopkg for now

Hmm, maybe a false alarm?

After doing the eopkg rollback, I then tried just upgrading the kerne+headers to confirm if it was kernel related. Rebooted, and keyboard/mouse were working.

So I then installed the rest of the packages and rebooted. Again, keyboard/mouse are still working.

No idea what caused it to break on first attempt but I look to be in good shape now.
