Undervolting GPU?

Wed Jan 10, 2018 12:56 am

I have a mini itx rig that uses a DC-DC board for power. I want to move to a direct plug DC-DC pico psu (https://www.sfflab.com/products/dynamo-mini-dc-atx-200w this one specifically with a Dell 330w brick) but I'm worried about power headroom.

I run a 65w CPU and an itx rx 570 and I was wondering if there was some way for me to undervolt my GPU so I can hopefully keep the power draw well under the 200w maximum the pico psu is capable of pumping out?

Any help/solutions would be greatly appreciated! I'm fairly new to Linux and Solus but I'm liking it a lot and would love to continue using Solus with the hardware that I have with hopefully fewer cables.

You'll probably need a custom BIOS for the GPU. I remember seeing those years ago for the x1800 series of graphics cards. Or even the fx5700 prior to that. However, recently, I haven't seen any.
