For some time now the audio on my Thinkpad X201 laptop has cut out completely after using it for a while. The only solution is to restart. I have tried it under a variety of circumstances; playing Youtube videos, listening to music, etc. This also includes system audio, like the volume beep when changing volume. I cannot see any reason for it in the sound manager. Nothing seems to be turned down when this happens.
It is important to note that I have tried with Ubuntu also installed and the same thing happens there. I am just posting here because I am back on Solus, so it makes sense to reach out for support here. I can only assume then that this is down to either the Linux kernel, something to do with PulseAudio or the hardware. I am reluctant to believe it is hardware because then I wouldn't expect audio to work at all.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
Update: I have just connected the laptop to a bluetooth speaker and audio works that way, so this must be limited to the internal speakers.
Update: Audio also works through headphones directly plugged in.
