Hi, I just installed Solus 3 Budgie and I have wifi issues. I found that the Broadcom driver is not being detected for the current kernel 4.14 and 4.12. But when I login with kernel 4.9 lts the wifi works. I don't know why that is. How can I get wifi to work on both the 4.14 and 4.12 kernel? Please help. Thanks

if you have an ethernet port - - it would help to run the post install updates and then use the tweak tool to install missing drivers

Everything is updated. How to you use tweak too? Kernel 4.9 is working with wifi, just not 4.14 and 4.12.

Do you have the corresponding Broadcom module installed for the current kernel?

Check package broadcom-sta-current is installed

Broadcom-sta-current is installed still can't get wifi to work on either 4.14 or 4.12. I don't want to keep booting into 4.9 lts for the wifi. I want to use the current kernel. Please help!

If the LTS (4.9) kernel with it's modules is working well, why not make that the standard kernel you're booting into? At least until the current kernel is fixed. This is not just a Solus issue.

Of course, another solution is to use alternate wifi hardware such as the Panda devices: http://www.pandawireless.com/

Seeing how often Broadcom presents issues in Linux and Unix, it makes sense to have a good backup wireless system - - plus the cost is only about 10-12 usd on Amazon for the nano sized usb ultra 150 n . . . fast enough and very reliable.
