Intel HD5500 with modesetting driver - missing resolutions

Wed Mar 07, 2018 5:23 pm

Hey, just like in the title I've removed the "xorg-driver-video-intel" package because I've had weird issues with my monitors (they seemed to go black and back to displaying things again pretty often for no reason, sort of like a long flicker) and while the flickers seem to be gone (still testing) now I have missing resolutions on my laptop monitor.

For eg. I'm using 1600x900 for my laptop but it isn't available. I've used this set of commands:

Code: Select all

xrandr --newmode "1600x900_60.00" 118.25 1600 1696 1856 2112 900 903 908 934 -hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode eDP-1 "1600x900_60.00"
to add it and that works fine, but it's gone after a reboot.

Is there a way to add it permamently? Also could this somehow be fixed in Solus itself?
