How to Install with No GUI, No Internet?

Thu May 10, 2018 3:42 pm

Hi,
I want to make one of my laptops a typewriter, with only the text editor WordGrinder installed, and the possibility of copying text documents to USB sticks. There has to be no GUI at all, as well as no Internet support, wired or wireless.
Is it possible to do this?
Thanks!

Everything is possible but perhaps Solus is not the right choice for such a config.

i agree there other more suitable choices.
have a look here:

personally for what you want, it would be easier with a gui. maybe something small like tiny core.

Thanks for the replies!
After some experiments with other distros, I ended up going back to Solus, with GUI but unnecessary components uninstalled, and using Atom as the text editor. Here's my Reddit post; nothing special, but someone might find the advice people gave to me useful: https://reddit.com/r/linuxquestions/com ... o_gui_and/
