libvirt after update: "cannot parse CPU map for x86 architecture"

Fri Jul 13, 2018 2:43 am

I use libvirt & virt-manager to run a Windows 10 virtual machine.
After the latest updates and a reboot I'm confronted with this error, through both the terminal and virt-manager:

Code: Select all

$ virsh -c qemu:///system start win10
error: Failed to start domain win10
error: internal error: cannot parse CPU map for x86 architecture
I can't find any mention of this exact error anywhere, and similar ones seem to be unrelated. I haven't been able to find any changes in the virtualization packages that might be causing this. I think this is may be a little out of my depth. If anyone has any thoughts or advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

(Also I accidentally submitted a half-written topic on this subject a few minutes ago using a hotkey, sorry to the moderators for that.)
